"How do I join?"

Does it take a lot of time?
The Marching Band rehearses Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 2 hours, which comes to a total of 6 hours per week. On game days, a rehearsal at the stadium 3 hours before game time is necessary, but it usually is an hour and students eat and change into uniforms at that time.

What about band camp?
Band camp is our oppportunity to get ahead for the start of school, so it's required for all members. Freshmen have certain activities planned for the week before school starts, and the marching band complies in all regards. You will be excused from activities or released to attend.

How much does it cost?
Practically nothing! The only costs incurred to be in the marching band at Colorado State include a $30 pair of black rolled-heeled marching shoes if you don't currently own them, the purchase of a cold weather hat ($10), and white gloves ($2/pair). Students who need/wish to use a school-owned instrument pay a one time semester fee of $25. All of these costs can be charged to a student's account.
Sections opt to get embroidery on their band hats or order t-shirts, and those costs are optional.
